Asankrangwa, January 21, 2024 — The VAN TREE Foundation hosted its annual Students’ Performance Awards Program from January 19th to 21st, recognizing outstanding achievements in the science field among local students.
The event kicked off with a radio media tour on January 19, featuring interviews on Velvet Beam FM and Royal FM. Foundation representatives, alongside three awardees, discussed the organization’s mission and the future aspirations of the young achievers.
The main awards ceremony took place on January 21 at the Immaculate Conception Church, starting at 7 AM and coinciding with the church’s first mass. Mr. Andrews Tuffour Mensah, Project Officer of the VAN TREE Foundation, addressed the congregation, underscoring the importance of empowering exceptional female students in the region.
Awards were presented to distinguished students from Asankrangwa Senior High School, Asankrangwa Senior High Technical School, and Asankrangwa Nursing and Midwifery Training College. Father Anthony K. Gyan honored the recipients with the awards, emphasizing the community’s support for educational excellence.
In addition, citations were awarded to the headmasters of the participating schools and the principal of the nursing and midwifery college, acknowledging their vital contributions to the program’s success.
During the event, Mr. Frank, a member of the VAN TREE Foundation, shared insights into the foundation’s history, highlighting its achievements and future goals.
